SCAA needs YOU!  It is that time of year again and the Association needs your help. This is the perfect opportunity to give a little bit of your time back to SCAA and your fellow archivists, as well as gain valuable service experience for your vita. SCAA relies on volunteers to arrange for quality professional development activities at an affordable price, to provide networking opportunities, to make available opportunities for sharing expertise and information via our blog and listserv, and to maintain a professional presence in the state.  


Nominations for officers is open for the following positions:


          President - the president shall direct and coordinate the affairs of the Association, shall preside at all meetings of the Association and the Executive Board, and shall perform such duties as may be directed by the Executive Board. Please note that this office does not usually appear on the ballot. Unfortunately, Kathryn Slover is taking another position out of state and will not be able to fulfill her duties as president. We all wish her well in her new position.


          Vice President/President-Elect - the vice president shall perform the duties of the president in case of the president's resignation or absence. The vice president shall serve as the president-elect and as the official Association liaison with other organizations or committees with which the Association cooperates, and shall perform other duties as requested by the president.


          First Year Director - Directors in their first year shall serve on the Program Committee and perform other duties as requested by the Executive Board or president. Directors (2nd year): Directors in their second year shall chair the Program Committee, coordinate arrangements for the annual meeting, and perform other duties as requested by the Executive Board or president.


          Membership Officer - the membership officer shall oversee the maintenance of membership lists, send out dues notices and contact those members who do not renew.  The membership officer shall also serve as the chair of the membership committee.

The deadline for submitting proposals for the SCAA Annual Conference is rapidly approaching. Please make your submissions using the form at by August 15, 2020. We look forward to seeing your ideas that will make this a great conference for everyone! 

The REALM project has released the results of natural attenuation of COVID-19 test 2. They can be found at Test 2 included stacked archival folders upon which, after two days of quarantine, no detectable COVID-19 virus was found. Test 3 is underway and results are expected in early August.
