New test results release by REALM
The results of test 4 on hardcover book cover, softcover book cover, hardcover plastic protective cover, DVD case, and one inch expanded polyethylene foam is a stacked configuration have been released by the REALM Project. They show that after six days of quarantine the SARS-CoV-2 virus was still detectable. This contrasts with the results of test 1, where the unstacked hardcover book cover, softcover book cover, hardcover plastic protective cover, DVD case did not show detectable virus after three days. Third Town Hall on reopening to be held on September 10th
The South Carolina Archival Association (SCAA) will host a third virtual Town Hall Meeting on reopening archives, museums, and other cultural heritage institutions to the public on September 10th from 3:00pm-4:30pm. The Town Hall will be a space for further discussion of reopening plans and the realities of reopening. It will allow us to share thoughts and ideas and learn from colleagues across South Carolina. Discussions will be unstructured and moderated.
The Town Hall is open to everyone but you must register.

More quarantine information released by REALM
The results of test 3 on a talking book USB cassette, a DVD, plexiglass, and both rigid and flexible plastic storage bags have been released by the REALM Project. They show that after five days of quarantine in an unstacked configuration, the SARS-CoV-2 virus was not detected on the storage bag (flexible plastic) or the DVD. The storage container (rigid plastic), plexiglass, and the USB cassette all showed detectable virus at five days. Day five was the final timepoint tested.
