Collaboration, Relevance, and the Re-Imagined Archives

The South Carolina Archival Association , the Society of North Carolina Archivists and the Society of Georgia Archivists are pleased to announce that registration is now open for the Tri-State Archivists Meeting, which will take place October 16 - 18, 2013 at Furman University located in Greenville, South Carolina.
The theme of the meeting is  Prepared in Mind and Resources: Collaboration, Relevance, and the Re-Imagined Archives, and will include presentations on the collaborative spirit between archives, libraries, historians, museums, and the wide variety of projects they undertake. Also on the program will be sessions reflecting archival practice in the areas of marketing, outreach, processing, digital archives, and instruction. You’ll want to check out the poster presentations as well!
Keynote speaker Emily Gore is the Director for Content, Digital Public Library of America, and Dr. Clifford Kuhn (past president,   Oral History Association; Georgia State University) will be our lunchtime plenary.
The Tri-State Education Committee will be offering the following pre-conference workshops on Wednesday, October 16: Digital Repositories (a SAA DAS Workshop), Archival Boot Camp, and an Oral History Workshop. Pay close attention to your listservs for upcoming information on registration.
Early bird registration fees for the meeting are $75 for members of SCAA, SNCA, and SGA, $50 for student members of SCAA, SNCA, and SGA, and $100 for non-members. SGA Members should log in to receive the member rate. Registration fees include: Thursday and Friday sessions and poster exhibits; Thursday and Friday continental breakfast and food and beverage breaks; access to exhibiting vendors; luncheon on Thursday (vegetarian options available); dessert reception and silent auction on Thursday evening at the Upcountry History Museum located in downtown Greenville, South Carolina (wine included), and complementary wireless login at Younts Conference Center (please indicate on registration form).
