October is national Archives Month and SCAA encourages all archivists and related professionals to celebrate and strut their stuff.
This year's theme is: "Planning for the Worst, Hoping for the Best: Documenting South Carolina's Natural Disasters"
Here are a couple of tools which can be used to promote Archives Month in your own institution:
- A Poster to download, print, and post
- And a sample press release & template to help you write your own
- The governor's proclamation declaring October Archives Month in South Carolina
If your archives is going to celebrate archives month, please send a notice with the details of your event (open house, exhibit, lecture, etc.) to: president@scarchivists.org
