REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN for the 2024 SCAA Annual Conference *Smarter not Harder*
It’s finally time! Registration is now open for the 2024 SCAA Annual Conference, being held at the College of Charleston in downtown Charleston, SC on Monday, November 4, 2024. This year’s conference theme, Smarter not Harder, encourages presenters and attendees to reflect on ideas, projects, processes, etc. that have made work better or more efficient. From revised workflows to new models to artificial intelligence, we will learn about what our colleagues are doing to make work smarter!
Our keynote speaker this year is Elizabeth Chew, PhD, CEO of the South Carolina Historical Society. Dr. Chew will share her experience with interpreting slavery at presidential plantations in Virginia. She will explain that because archival records only capture certain aspects of the lives of enslaved people, both archaeology and oral histories can prove critical to fill in the gaps and silences.
We have a wide-ranging slate of presentations representing a variety of institutions from public libraries, to academic institutions, to community historical societies. The program of presentations can be viewed HERE. Local hotel options, parking information, and a campus map can be viewed HERE.
