Attendees will learn about how to care for historic photographs and will be taught the basics of photograph conservation. Presenters include Beth Bilderback, Visual Materials Archivist at the South Caroliniana Library and Jennifer Bullock, Lead Conservator at Carolina Conservation in Irmo, SC.

PALMCOP fans, save the date! January 24, 2020 is our annual conference. “Safe and Secure: Protecting What Is Most Valuable” will be held at the Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary, beginning at 9 AM.

This year’s theme surrounds patron safety in our cultural resource institutions. We’ll be hearing from a number of public safety instructors and professionals on what lengths we can take to create greater safety and security policies.
Topics will include active shooter training, hostage negotiation, first aid, implementation of security policies and plans, and much more! This is a conference you won’t want to miss!

SCAA Annual Conference proposals deadline extended!
The deadline for proposals for the South Carolina Archival Association 2019 Annual meeting has been extended until October 15, 2019. If you are interested in submitting a proposal to present at this conference, please follow this link.
This year‘s theme is “Connecting Collections”, and will focus on how we support smaller archival projects and institutions, how we connect records for greater accessibility, and how we can create a greater awareness of lesser-known but very valuable collections!
The Association will be celebrating its 20th anniversary this year with the meeting being held at Newberry College, at the Gnann Conference Center at the Center for Teacher Education, in the historic Speers Street Elementary School on October 25, 2019 from 9:30am-3pm.
Register now for early bird rates. Rates will increase by $10 after October 4th.
